All Alexa, I am such a cliche. But she does wear a Little Red Dress so well (I'll call it an LRD to save me typing it again and again...I'm lazy, ok?) I'm not a person who goes out partying loads (read: loser) so I don't have tons of party dresses. I just have three that I can rework; a Little Black Dress (of course), a very sparkly number and an LRD. In my opinion they're just as classic as a black dress...unlike say, yellow, it suits everyone and never goes out of fashion. Also, and I'm going to sound so English right now, you can wear black tights with them (I think black cheapens a lot of colours.) Since the shade is so timeless, you can play around with shapes a bit more and get away with it without looking too over the top. Plus, they're perfect for this time of year!
So when Stephanie contacted me from House of Fraser asking if I would like to do a feature on their selection of party dresses I knew I wanted to do something on the LRD. I work near House Of Fraser and often pop in on my lunch break so I've seen the amazing selection of brands and styles that they have. Here are my favourites!
Mango Strapless Peplum Dress £22.99: I love this dress! A really flattering shape for all sizes and it's such a bargain too.
Isabel London Pinafore Skater Dress £28.00: I love skater style dresses and this one has a really cute heart cut-out detail on the back.
Atelier 61 Pleat Chiffon Dress £42: I really like long sleeves because when I go out I never have time to fake tan so I want to cover up my ghostliness! But because it's sheer you're not too covered up.
Label Lab Metallic Cut Out Dress £80: I think this one might be my favourite of the lot. Metallic red is a bit unusual but it works because the colour is quite dark. I love the shape too, it's quite unique!
What's your favourite? Do you have a little red dress?

Ohhh my concession is across from Label Lab and that metallic dress is always staring at me. It really is beautiful, especially in the Real World.

I love them all but my absolute favourite is the Skater heart dress, I might even buy this!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a lot more red in my wardrobe, I am not sure what happened as I don't have very much of it at all any more (apart from my bright red winter coat and a few cardigans) hmm that needs to be changed, you have reminded me how much I love red!
